Welcome to St. Peter's and St. Philip's Parish

It is always good to be able to welcome you to our website and particularly at this troubled time when we all feel a little vulnerable. I was sent this picture of Christ the Healer comforting our world and thought it would be good to share it with you.

The website is the chief way of being able to communicate with the parish and so the newsletter will continue to be published online with one letter for both parishes.

Although our church like all the others is closed at the moment Mass is celebrated each day at 12 noon except on Sunday when Mass is celebrated at 10 00 a.m. The Rosary is recited each evening at 7 00 p.m. You can access these either by clicking on ‘webcam’ on the website menu or going to www.churchservices.tv/stockport. The Sunday Mass is recorded for those of you who cannot make it at 10 00 a.m.

For a guide to "Prayers when there is no Mass" please click here.  There is also a short video on how to prepare for Mass through a live stream that you could find here.
We are trying to maintain some parish life during these difficult times and you can still find a flavour of what goes on when things are 'normal'.

If anyone needs assistance with shopping or anything like that or just a chat if you are feeling isolated then give us a call on 4833476 and we have a team of people ready to help.
In the meantime, stay safe, wash your hands regularly and follow all the public information instructions that are being given at the moment.

May God bless you and yours,

Fr Peter

A prayer from the Presidents of the Bishop's Conference of Europe

God our Father, Creator of the world, almighty and merciful, out of love for us
You sent your Son into the world as the doctor of our souls and our bodies,
look upon your children who, in this difficult time of confusion and dismay in
many regions of Europe and the world, turn to you seeking strength, salvation
and relief, deliver us from illness and fear, heal our sick, comfort their families, give wisdom to our rulers, energy and reward to our doctors, nurses and volunteers, and eternal life to the dead. Do not abandon us in the moment of trial but deliver us from all
We ask this of Thee, who with the Son and the Holy Spirit, live and reign for
ever and ever. Amen.

Update on Foodbank

We have been speaking with the Foodbank at Hazel Grove Baptist Church and the usual donations can be brought directly to the Baptist Church ( front office ) on Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10-2 pm However, Financial donations are preferable now, marked “Stockport Foodbank” cheques / cash can be put in an envelope and put through the Baptist church letterbox ( obviously no cash in post !) Alternatively, The Just Giving page marked  “Stockport Foodbank” can be used to donate electronically and this will suit many .

The need for the Foodbank may well increase and if necessary they will contact us and similarly if they need more volunteers.
