Welcome to the friendly community of

Saint Peter's Catholic Church, Hazel Grove

During this difficult time we remember John 16:32 - "The hour is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, every man to his home, and will leave me alone; yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me".  We are mindful of our Father's presence amongst us in our community, always.

A message from our Parish Priest

Father Peter Sharrocks
Welcome to our website which I hope you will find helpful and informative. Despite the current restrictions there is still a lot going on in the parish thanks to technology. The numbers watching our streamed Masses and Rosaries have been most encouraging. We have held various meetings and gatherings via Zoom including virtual teas and coffees after Mass on Sundays. It has been a good way of keeping people in touch with each other. I hope you like this picture of Christ the Healer which I received some time ago at the beginning of ‘lockdown

Here is a useful guide to "Prayers when there is no Mass" as well as a short video on how to prepare for Mass through a live stream.

We are hoping to be able to open the church soon for private visits. This of course is subject to various precautions being put in place which we are trying to do as quickly as possible. We want the church to be as safe as possible. We will make announcements as soon as we can.

For those Parishioners who normally give in the collection at Mass and wish to help the Parish at this time, here is an online donation page to allow you to donate to the Parish. Please be aware that a minimum donation of £5 is requested if giving in this way. The page can also be used to set up a regular monthly donation, and you can also Gift Aid your donation to help the Parish further. If you want to Gift Aid your donation, please tick the box shown on the screen even if you have previously completed a Gift Aid Declaration form in favour of the Parish for regular giving made by Offertory Envelope or Standing Order. Thank you for your support.

May God bless you and yours, Fr. Peter.
Christ the Healer
A prayer from the Presidents of the Bishop's Conference of Europe

God our Father, Creator of the world, almighty and merciful, out of love for us You sent your Son into the world as the doctor of our souls and our bodies, look upon your children who, in this difficult time of confusion and dismay in many regions of Europe and the world, turn to you seeking strength, salvation and relief, deliver us from illness and fear, heal our sick, comfort their families, give wisdom to our rulers, energy and reward to our doctors, nurses and volunteers, and eternal life to the dead. Do not abandon us in the moment of trial but deliver us from all evil. We ask this of Thee, who with the Son and the Holy Spirit, live and reign for ever and ever. Amen.
